Earl Cooper is the founder of Earl Cooper Golf in Wilmington, DE. In addition to coaching hundreds of students yearly, Earl has found time to publish three children’s books about college, run a mentoring program and is extremely activated in the community.
Earl Cooper was also named to Golf Digest’s 2016-17 prestigious Best Young Teachers in America, the youngest out of 100 recipients for this award. Before creating “Earl Cooper Golf” his Professional career started in Port St. Lucie, FL at the PGA Golf Club as an Assistant Golf Professional in 2011.
He then moved on to the Detroit Golf Club where he would spend the summer months and then back to Florida for the winter. While in Detroit, he Co-found “DGC Junior Elite” with Matt Adamski. Matt and Earl developed one of the most successful elite junior training programs in the country. They hosted an annual Junior Elite Boot Camp in Florida.
He is a motivational speaker who has spoken at local schools and even internationally. In 2016, he became the youngest academic inducted into his high school’s Hall of Fame.
While at Morehouse College Earl was instrumental in helping his alma mater earn its first PGA National Minority Championship. He would go on to finish in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science. Now, as Class-A PGA Professional, Earl’s goal is to bridge the gap into new markets to expand the game of golf. Earl was selected 1 out of 14 for the PGA Lead Class 2016-2018. This is a highly selective program that identifies top ranking PGA members and guides them into leadership roles on a national level.
Earl has figured out how to leverage his education and unique experience, combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills, to make a meaningful contribution to the game of golf.
